File selection buttons

Theses buttons are used as follows.

Load sample:

This button allows you to pick a single file and show the data contained with in it. This, depending on why it is used, can be very useful. Below is a typical screen that would appear after a file is chosen.

MP3 tag values

In this case, the created folder structure would look like this if this file was renamed

(and D:\Ed\Renamed\MP3 was the base destination folder)
D:\Ed\Renamed\MP3\Pink Floyd\1971\Relics\Paintbox.MP3.

Select source files

This allows you to select one of more files from a folder and put the file names in the 'Chosen source files' list box. These will be processed to see if they can be renamed / copied to a folder structure we create based on information within the file.

Select source folder

This will allow you to choose a single folder and all of its sub folders and have all files entered into the 'Chosen source files' list box.

You would use this if you had a folder with tens of thousands of files in it and do not wish to highlight them.

Also, you can use this if you see that many of your files are in the 'Lost and found' folder.

Select destination folder

This allows you to choose the base destination folder to move / copy all files to.

For example, if you chose d:\recovered\MP3 as your destination folder, all sub folders would be created under that base folder. You may have a folder structure that looks like D:\Ed\Renamed\MP3\Pink Floyd.

Clear source files

This will clear all files from the 'Chosen source files' list box.

Clear destination file

This will clear the destination folder and the program will behave as if a destination folder was never chosen.
